WipEout Stylists The Designers Republic Shuts Down
Sad news indeed.... =(
The UK design studio largely responsible for the identifiable visual style of Psygnosis' WipEout series, The Designers Republic has shut its doors after more than two decades in business. Why? Money problems.
The Designers Republic founder Ian Anderson tells the Creative Review that the studio, which handled visual work on titles like WipEout and WipEout XL, laid off all staff earlier this week. A seemingly perfect storm of cash-related issues ended the company, but Anderson says it will rise again in another form.
The design firm also worked on a handful of other video game related projects, including the PC game Hardwar and the original Grand Theft Auto. But it was probably the WipEout series with which The Designers Republic was most closely tied as the earlier games' typography, team design and icons were largely the result of their work.

Girl Who Hasn't Seen Star Wars Summarizes Star Wars...Poorly
From Fishrockit.com:
"My friend Amanda had never seen a whole Star Wars film. When I asked her if she wanted to watch the original trilogy she said that she would, but that she already knew what happens. So I took out my voice recorder and asked her to start from the top.
I then created some very basic animation in Final Cut to go along with her narration."
Okay, maybe the girl's summary isn't quite the funniest thing ever, but man, the animation is absolutely outstanding. Definitely give this thing a try. The Counselor decrees it!

Also. Rumor has it that 20th Century Fox is developing a Predator reboot with Robert Rodriguez and Troublemaker Studios in the producers chair. This according to Bloody Disgusting’s reliable sources, who also claim that the idea is for the film follow a team of commandos who must face a mysterious race of vicious monsters. That’s right, not just one Predator, but a whole group. That change alone is sure to cause fanboys to throw a hissy fit...
Also, its talk about another Tomb Raider reboot pluss a Superman Reboot... Ohh lord.. Ile stick with Donner and Lesters versions, thank you very much.. (no offence Brian)
Now.. If I could only find that list of original movies...
Trailer for the movie Chocolate is not what you think...
Director Prachya Pinkaew and martial arts choreographer Panna Rittikrai, the duo that worked out how Tony Jaa violently destroyed people in Ong-Bak, have a new film coming out in the U.S. on Valentine's Day! I know you'll all be busy kissing, but if you can take a short break to watch one movie in which an autistic girl kicks a bunch of dudes to death, make it this one. Here's the new domestic trailer:
5 Reasons Why the Fringe Team Is the Worst Department in the FBI
HAHA.. This made me laugh.. I havent watched alot of episodes.. (I watch when I can) but I can see where they get the facts from. Peter Bishop`s character is only in the way and is still playing "Dawson`s Pacey". The female agent is perhaps the stiffest actor on the screens right now. I only think that the mad genius "Walter Bishop" is is the only one thats perfect for this show and want to see more of him..
