Ten Minutes of Dr. Seuss’ Horton Hears a Who

Yahoo UK has a ten minute preview of Dr. Seuss’ Horton Hears a Who, and I have to say. Despite not remotely close to the original it does look highly entertaining in a slick animated popculture kinda way

"One Year to Midnight"

"Here we are, officially one year and counting until the release of Watchmen on 03.06.09. Being a fan that follows production blogs, I know that the time a film is in post can often seem like an eternity with interesting bits of information few and far between. So to help pass the time, here is your first look at some of the Watchmen characters.

Movie review Jumper. *SPOILERS*

I saw the movie Jumper last week, and although the premise was solid and could have been more explored, the whole thing felt wasted and I left a bit empty

Plot Outline:
A genetic anomaly allows a young man to teleport himself anywhere. He discovers this gift has existed for centuries and finds himself in a war that has been raging for thousands of years between "Jumpers" and those who have sworn to kill them.

Yes, its hayden "Manikin skywalker", yes its a effects movie. I still had somewhat high hopes for it since it had such a cool consept. A consept that I myself have been intrested in some time now, unfortunately the movie dosent even touch upon it. I couldent care less if the gang lived or died, I was there to watch the effects and see what all this was about. After a near death experience David Rice (Hayden) finds out that he can teleport/jump to a to another location. The rule is that he can only teleport to places that he can see and have been before. Apparently when he was drowning he though of the school library since that is where he first teleports.

The movie then jumps forward in a happy 80s music montage with him stealing money from a bank and living life to the fullest in a 8 by 5 meter shitdorm in a downtown sentral room for rent. How a 15 year old kid manages to rent a room in quite possibly dangerous area of New york, is beyond me. The reception clerk is only concerned that he dosent do any "funny business" and pay each month. Fair nuff

The movie skips forward about 5-10 years? We now see David living life in a sweet batchlor pad in NY with walls covered with pictures of places his gone too and they serve as a "jump spots" for him if he ever wants to stretch his legs.

Here comes the beste scene in the movie. David is bored and sits down to watch telly when he realises that the remote is to far away from him, so he uses his godlike powers to jump closer to the remote at the other end of the sofa, then starts flicking the channels. He stops for a brief moment at some flood victims trapped on a house. A superhero would be all over the situation and helped out the poor people but no, not our david. He smirks and instead jumps over to the frige to get some milk. That whole scene was briliant and I might have been the only one in the theater who laught out loudly. It really was a character defineing moment. Sadly this was the only moment in the movie that carryed some weight. He is really a whiny jerk ever since the flood scene. I guess thats his acting niche (episode 2-3, Shatterd glass, Life as a House)

Then for no apparent reason, motherfucker Samuel L. Jackson appers sporting a white dye hairpice and apparently he`s had it with these motherfucker jumpers. Why? We dont know. All we are left with is that they have been killing jumper since the the medival times becuase they are voialating god`s will. I did find it ironic that the "christian villans" retrieve the Jumpers by using their powers, then persecute them for being unholy. And apparently the whole Paladin vs Jumpers concept was never in the original story/book.

Then there was another jumper who was catching on to david`s powers. His role was completly bonkers since he followed david for about 20 minutes of the movie, calling him names from a distance in his snooty british accent. Then when David tries to make contact with him, he totally reverses role`s and went like: What do you want from me..? Who are you? Leave me alone! It dident make any sense.

The love interest was called Millie ("played" by Rachel Bilson) Her character was completely retarded. Her entire role was just going "hey talk to me hey hey talk to me" and why david felt that he had to hide his awesome powers for here also dident come across very well. It was just all just poorly developed. The same goes with the bully. Altough I liked his character since he was just so completely over the top

All in all its a silly no-brainer of a popcorn movie. I had to high hopes. Its got action and snappy effects, thats what you get. Story is almost non-present and the consept remains untouched. And Hayden still cant act.

Nine Inch Nails Album Free on BitTorrent

"Nine Inch Nails" frontman Trent Reznor is making good on his promise to offer free music via the torrent services (peer-to-peer programs that use the BitTorrent protocol). The band's first offering comes from its new instrumental record, Ghosts.

Reznor notes in a release that accompanied the announcement:
Hello from Nine Inch Nails.

We're very proud to present a new collection of instrumental music, Ghosts I-IV. Almost two hours of music recorded over an intense ten week period last fall, Ghosts I-IV sprawls Nine Inch Nails across a variety of new terrain.

Now that we're no longer constrained by a record label, we've decided to personally upload Ghosts I, the first of the four volumes, to various torrent sites, because we believe BitTorrent is a revolutionary digital distribution method, and we believe in finding ways to utilize new technologies instead of fighting them.

We encourage you to share the music of Ghosts I with your friends, post it on your website, play it on your podcast, use it for video projects, etc. It's licensed for all non-commercial use under Creative Commons.

We've also made a 40 page PDF book to accompany the album. If you'd like to download it for free, visit

Ghosts I is the first part of the 36 track collection Ghosts I-IV. Undoubtedly you'll be able to find the complete collection on the same torrent network you found this file, but if you're interested in the release, we encourage you to check it out at, where the complete Ghosts I-IV is available directly from us in a variety of DRM-free digital formats, including FLAC lossless, for only $5. You can also order it on CD, or as a deluxe package with multitrack audio files, high definition audio on Blu-ray disc, and a large hard-bound book.

We genuinely appreciate your support, and hope you enjoy the new music. Thanks for listening.

The free tracks compose the first of a four-volume set--nine out of 36 tracks. Users can pick up the entirety of Ghosts I-IV for an extremely reasonable $5, via NIN's official site.

The music is also available in a variety of other price points, including the uber-fan Ultra-Deluxe Limited Edition Package, which features two CDs, a DVD, a Blu-ray disc, and four 180-gram vinyl LPs, numbered and signed by Trent Reznor, all for the low, low price of $300.

Alternative ending actually an alternative ending!

Ok, I found this clip of the "alternative" ending of IAMLEGEND and I have to say that this is about ten times better then the original ending that was in the cinematic movie and its a real alternative ending, fully fleshed out and all. Not just shuffled scenes as most alternative endings are...

It stays more true to the original source and just feels like a more concluding ending while giving some backstory to the "vamps"

Mirror's Edge

I know almost nothing about DICE`s new game yet with just 7 screens its managed to get quite high on my list. I love the strong visual look (lighting and color scheme looks straight out of HL2) and the consept for gameplay looks like Crackdown meets a FPS version of Assassins creed.

The game concentrates on movement, and aims to expand and reinvent the sense of movement which is currently lacking from first-person games (in the words of senior producer Owen O'Brien, "to place you in the world and convey the strain and physical contact with the environment"). Although the player character can hold weapons, O'Brien stresses, "Principally, this is an action adventure. We're not positioning this as a shooter - the focus isn't on the gun, it's on the person."

Though set in seemingly utopian city environment with low crime and clean streets, the world is also one inhabited by an authoritarian government regime and unbridled levels of surveillance. In this world of communications monitoring, the only way to deliver confidential information between parties is to employ couriers (called runners) to physically deliver the information. The player character controls runner Faith, employing parkour inspired movements to reach her destination. Aside from Faith there are rumors of other potential characters to choose from. This information comes from one of the official sites administrators.

Grand Theft Auto IV Hands-On

IGN got their greedy sly hands on a version of the most anticipated game of 2008 and they where more then pleased with the bug free carnage they cooked up.

"While cruising town, we received a phone call tipping us that Lenny was seen looking to catch a train up on Guantanemo Avenue. Sure enough, when we got there we saw Lenny and a bodyguard waiting to hop a train. Taking the motto "shoot first, ask questions later" to heart, we popped the brain of the bodyguard without saying a word. Lenny hopped across the tracks, just as a train passed, giving him a bit of a head start. That didn't last long."

"With cops in hot pursuit and the spotlight of a chopper locked onto our car, we made a wrong turn, drove over a cliff and crashed onto a beach. As we ran from our burning car, we narrowly avoided being squashed by a squad car that -- in true CHiPs fashion -- followed us over the cliff. We did our best to stave off an arrest, firing a few rocket-propelled grenades to take down one of the choppers overhead. The curling smoke trail is a gorgeous thing. The little scuffle soon turned into a standoff on the beach as we laid down suppressing machinegun fire on a group of cops attempting to approach from the beach. We were saved by a miracle -- a second police car drove over the cliff and crashed into the group of pursuing officers."

Haha.. 2 Months couldent be further away!

Final Poster for Pixar's Wall-E!

What if mankind had to leave Earth, and somebody forgot to turn the last robot off?

After hundreds of lonely years of doing what he was built for, WALL•E (short for Waste Allocation Load Lifter Earth-Class) discovers a new purpose in life (besides collecting knick-knacks) when he meets a sleek search robot named EVE. EVE comes to realize that WALL•E has inadvertently stumbled upon the key to the planet's future, and races back to space to report her findings to the humans (who have been eagerly awaiting word that it is safe to return home). Meanwhile, WALL•E chases EVE across the galaxy and sets into motion one of the most exciting and imaginative comedy adventures ever brought to the big screen.

Wall-E is both written and directed by Pixar's own Andrew Stanton, who wrote and directed A Bug's Life and Finding Nemo. The movie will arrive in theaters everywhere this summer on June 27th.

Im not completly sold on the premise of the movie, but the trailers have given me a nais retro feeling of johnny/number 5 from the classic "robot turns into a childlike "human" with funny yet thoughtfull consequences that makes us reflect our own existence and way of life" genre movie: Short circut

Ps:Come to think about it. Its a bit too close..
