Poster for "Moon" plus trailer

I live for movies that are character-driven by a small cast and where the setting is remote, alienating and eerie, (ala: Funny games, Phone booth, Memento, Silent Running, Das Experiment, Solaris, Cube, Primer, PI, Rent Lola rent.. etc) so it might not come as a huge shock that I am looking forward to Duncan Jones "MOON"

This has got to be one of the coolest posters I’ve seen. Very simple, but also incredibly retro.

Incase you might not have heard of it, it tells the story of Astronaut "Sam Bell" who has a quintessentially personal encounter toward the end of his three-year stint on the Moon, where he, working alongside his computer, GERTY (voiced by Kevin Spacy), sends back to Earth parcels of a resource that has helped diminish our planet's power problems.

The story in itselfs isent really the drawing point but the whole consept that one man has been isolated on the surface of the moon for 3 years intrigues me. Pluss Id watch just about anything that has Sam Rockwell in it.. That guy is one of my favorite actors and can truly carry a movie all by himself (Choke). Plus you have Kevin Spacey cast as HAL9000`s creepy stepbrother.. Yay?!

Trailer:

The trailer gives you a great example of the tone of the movie. It definitely shows the unease of something going wrong right at the end of a massively long tour of exile. It also carries the worry of something even darker at stake and showcases some of the fantastic shots. Also the movie looks a bit retro when it comes to the sets and enviroments. Retro as in sets aesthetics from the 70s scifi films like Alien/2001/Silent Running. Also, it lets you see how cool a smiley face with Kevin Spacey’s voice can look like.
