Simon Pegg, Nick Frost Trading 'Bitch' Role

If you've seen Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz, you know that pretty much anything Simon Pegg and Nick Frost do is handed down from whatever the British version of "God" is. So imagine my joy in finding out Paul, a project that will see the two as geeks on a road trip in America, with Pegg taking on the more subservient role usually reserved for Frost.

While the details were few and far between from Pegg, he did reveal the title and a little of the plot. “It’s called ‘Paul’ and it’s a road movie about two British geeks in America.” Pegg added that the film will be shot here in the States.
So will we see a similar dynamic between Simon and Nick as depicted in “Shaun” and Hot Fuzz”? Pegg laughed said, “No, it’s different actually. I’m the bitch in this one. This time Simon’s the bitch!”

MACHINE GIRL Trailer!

Good things come to those who wait, or so they say, and our patience has just been rewarded with an exclusive first look at the trailer for Noboru Igushi’s Machine Girl. It brings together many of the key behind the scenes talents involved with cult Japanese titles like Death Trance and Meatball Machine and turns them loose on a revenge story revolving around a Japanese schoolgirl seeking revenge against the gang that tortured her brother to death and cost her her own arm. But no worries ... that arm has now been replaced by a high powered machine gun. The first proper trailer was completed just yesterday and you can see it here

Evil Dead meets Kill Bill with some Planet Terror toppings. Yeah. Looks insane!

Tim Burton Talks "Alice" Adaptation

Director Tim Burton says he plans to stay true to Lewis Carroll's original stories for his adaptation of "Alice in Wonderland".

He tells Sci-Fi Wire that the story is "just such a classic, and the imagery is so surreal. I don't know; I've never seen a version where I feel like they got it all. It's a series of weird adventures, and to try to do it where it works as a movie will be interesting...The imagery, they've never quite nailed making it compelling as a full story. So I think it's an interesting challenge to direct."

Burton will also produce the adaptation, which will use both live action and performance-capture animation. Filming is set to begin in early 2008 and Burton will work from a script by Linda Woolverton ("Beauty and the Beast").

Thats great news!.. I was hoping for more of a stop motion/"Nightmare before christstmas" style but this might also work.

My hopes are someting like American Mcgee`s Alice in Wonderland

Im not worried at all. Burton could come out tomorrow and say that he was to redo Talladega Nights or Die Hard 3 and I would be just as happy.

PS: I would love to see Johnny Depp as the Cheshire Cat..

Funny Games trailer

Ploy: In this provocative and brutal thriller from director Michael Haneke, a vacationing family gets an unexpected visit from two deeply disturbed young men. Their idyllic holiday turns nightmarish as they are subjected to unimaginable terrors and struggle to stay alive.

This is a remake of a german movie. I have seen neither but this looks like something I cant pass up. Getting a nais "Viddy well" feeling of this one. (lame reference to A Clockwork Orange..)

Marketplace video store open next week...

Log onto Xbox Live on December 11th, download 300, start shouting "this is Sparta!"

At last, it's our time in the sun. After Americans have been downloading movies from Xbox Live Marketplace since time began (note: possibly exaggeration), we'll be getting our turn. Xbox Live Marketplace Video Store opens in the UK and the rest of Europe on December 11th and inside, we have a full list of what movies will be available and how much they cost.

Ever since december the third, my xbox has been getting more attention the usual. This has only to do with the fact that MS dropped a update for the 360 making it possible to watch Divx! Ive used windows media center and transcode up to now but now I just plug in my 500gb external Hd and lean back. Its amazing. Finaly the 360box is a true media center.

First thing is pricing. Films will cost 250 Microsoft Points for the Standard Definition version while downloading the High Definition version will set you back 380 Microsoft Points instead. That's not much, it means films are cheaper than Frogger and they're definitely going to give you more entertainment value too. Gimme a high five, Jeff Minter! Hell yeah.

These are the films confirmed for Xbox Live Marketplace Video Store. See if you can spot the truly awesome film lurking in the list (clue: it's not Harry Potter)...

300
HARRY POTTER AND THE PHILOSOPHER'S STONE
HARRY POTTER AND THE CHAMBER OF SECRETS
ZODIAC
MATRIX, THE
MATRIX REVOLUTIONS, THE
MATRIX RELOADED, THE
OCEAN'S ELEVEN
PERFECT STORM, THE
SWORDFISH
THREE KINGS
TRAINING DAY
FUGITIVE, THE
RISKY BUSINESS
SPACE COWBOYS
EYES WIDE SHUT
ANALYZE THIS
DEMOLITION MAN
ERASER
EXECUTIVE DECISION
LETHAL WEAPON 3
LETHAL WEAPON 4
LOONEY TUNES: BACK IN ACTION
MARS ATTACKS!
CLASH OF THE TITANS
SUPERMAN III
DEAD CALM

Did you spot the awesome film? Yup! It's Demolition Man! In HD! Demolition Man is blatantly one of the best films ever ("send a manianc to catch a maniac") and we can only hope that Demolition Man's inclusion means we can also look forward to the likes of Under Siege, Predator, Commando and Hard Target. In HD! Don't let us down, Microsoft...

Speedracer! Trailer! Colors!

What the f is this!? This looks fresh and "zany"!

So this is the newest movie from the brothers Wachowski (Bound, Matrix, V for vendetta) and its a update on a beloved old cartoon from the 60`s. (fact: One of the first Japanese cartoons to make it to the USA where it was called "Mach GoGoGo")

With "Speer Racer", The Wachowskis have purportedly been rumored to invent a new visual style in filmmaking. They have been working on a new type of cameras that supposedly record everything in focus. This is to further amplify the cartoon style of the show. Interesting but will it work? Its not all gadgets and "Car-fu" as Joel Silver vommits out. Since the brothers are hardcore fans of the series they have also laid their love on the cars, costumes and the overal message of the series.

I wasent really expecting anything like this. This looks so far fetched and beyond anything Ive seen todate. Just from the corny dialoge and characters I got a lazy sunday watching hanna barberas "Wacky Races" on cartoon network feel from it.. And the style is Charlie and the chocolate factory meets Dick Tracy all covered in of Andy Warholes version of "hot wheels"

And you got to love any movie thats main rival is called "Racer X". Hah, take that youtube generation!

Check out the trailer here:

Gamereviewer reviewed?

Gamereviewer Jeff Gerstmann from gamespot.com was, according to rumors, fired from his after a rather negative review of Eidos/Io interactive newest game "Kane and Lynch"

Gerstmann has been a gamereviewer for many years for Cnet owned Gamespot and has gotten lots of respect within the gaming community

It was after giving Kane and lynch a dazzeling score of 6.0 (out of 10), that he supposedly was laid of

The reason for this reaction was that Eidos was threatening to pull a huge ad campaign they had running for "Kane and Lynch" after the rather harsh review Gerstmann gave the game.

This is just rumors, but is currently beeing confirmed by a freelancer working for Gamespot that Gerstmann is out of the company, but he will not say what caused this.

What does all this mean? Well I guess it further amplifyes my recentment towards gamereviews videos. I think its fake and I have yet to find a reviwer thats totally honest. (With the exception of myself and Yahtzee) I do watch them but Im going to try the games for myself anyway, but then again Im not the kind of person that steers away from a movie just because my friends or online reviews says its bad. I check it out anyway. I go on a little quest for myself in order to find out why or what is wrong with it. How can I fix it. What would I have done here..

Im still going to play Kane and lynch since its from the creators of the hitman series and I do need a new game to play =P

gotta play them all..

See the horrefying "honest" review here!

Penny Arcade has allready made a comic of the incedent.
